Rollover crash ejects passenger

TOWN OF FAYETTE — On Sunday, Aug. 15, a rollover crash on County Highway G ejected a male passenger, who later was transferred to UW Hosptial in Madison via Med Flight with severe, life-threatening injuries.

Julie Renee Meyers, 31 of Darlington, was traveling westbound on Bond Road, when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of County Highway G. She lost control of the vehicle, which overturned numerous times in the north ditch line, near the 12000 block of County Highway G, just west of the intersection of Bond Road. 

A passenger in the vehicle, Douglas Edward Rinden, 34 of Racine, was ejected. Neither of Meyers nor Rinden wore seatbelts at the time of the crash.  

Meyers was transported to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County by Lafayette County EMS with non- life threatening injuries. 

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Darlington Fire Department, Lafayette County EMS, Darlington Police Department and UW Med Flight. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
