Roger Dale Henningsen 65 died unexpectedly in his sleep Friday August 30th at his home in Spanaway, Washington.
The son of the late James and Clara Henningsen of Albany Roger was born in Benton, Wisconsin on April 24th 1947. Roger was a Graduate of Gratiot High School and Served in the Navy from 1966 thru 1969 when he received a medical discharge due to injuries received while serving aboard the USS Pine Island. During his service Roger served aboard the USS Pine Island and the USS aircraft carrier Ticonderoga as well as gun boats in Vietnam. For the past 41 years Roger has resided in the Seattle-Tacoma area and he was retired from Boeing aircraft. The last 6 years Roger has divided his time between Spanaway and Monroe where he was building his dream home.
Roger was a beloved brother, uncle and friend. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Roger's name to benefit AMVETS National Service Foundation and The National League of POW/MIA Families.

The celebration of Rogers life will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall 1627 12th Ave. Monroe, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 22, 2012 with refreshments to follow.
