WARREN - Rodney G. Heidenreich, age 65, passed away at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 5, 1949 in Freeport, IL to Melvin and Marjorie (Kant) Heidenreich. He married Gail Sigafus on August 3, 1968 at the United Methodist Church in Apple River, IL. He worked as a line clearance tree trimmer for 37 years and retired from local IBEW #9 in June 2010. In his retirement, he worked at the Apple River Canyon State Park in maintenance and he loved his job very much. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church in Pleasant Valley. He enjoyed cars, fishing, camping, motorcycles, watching his grandchildren's sports, tinkering in his garage, boating, rides with his dogs, listening to country western music, reading car magazines, watching western movies and going on motor home vacations with his wife Gail.

He is survived by his wife: Gail, children; David Sigafus of Warren, IL, Sheila (Tim) Pickett of Orangeville, IL, James (Jenny) Heidenreich, Robert Heidenreich and Kurtis (Val) Heidenreich, all of Warren, IL. Eight grandchildren; Nicholas Sigafus, Lindsey, Brady and Angelina Pickett, DreAna and Dharma Heidenreich, Ava and Claudia Heidenreich. One brother; William (Deb) Heidenreich of Stockton, IL. One sister; Carla (Neil) Andrews of Darlington, WI, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Special companions; his dog Teddy and his cat Baby.

Preceeded in death by his parents and brother: Neale Heidenreich.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 till 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Officiating will be Rev. Robert Phelps.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren.

A memorial established in his name.
