Robert H. Wild of Winslow, IL died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport, IL. He was born on November 10, 1934 in rural Winslow, the son of Harold and Helen (Kundert) Wild. Robert graduated from Orangeville High School.

Robert and Shirley Sweetwood were married on November 20, 1954 at East Clarno Church. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. Robert and Shirley farmed in the Winslow area. Robert was the 4th generation on the family farm. Robert was an active member in Stephenson County Holstein Club and was awarded the Illinois State Outstanding Sr. Breeding Award in 1997. Robert was a Square Dance Caller for 35 years, Teaching dances to dancers in Orangeville, Freeport, Monroe, Beloit and Janesville, and calling in several states. He was on staff at Shady Rest Lodge in Rhinelander and Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

Robert is survived by his wife Shirley, of Winslow, IL; children, Scott Wild of Monroe, Patti Brugger of Monroe, Kevin (Sandy) Wild of Forreston, IL; Kris (Theresa) Wild of Winslow, IL; sister, Marlene (Gary) Rote of Freeport, IL; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Janet Wild.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Reverend John Fease Officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held Sunday from2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home and Monday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
