Rita D. Norquay, age 72 of Juda, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on January 28, 1939 in Alliance, Nebraska, the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret (Jones) Kelly. She graduated from Corvallis High School in Corvallis, Montana. Rita married Wendell J. Norquay on April 18, 1958 in Corvallis, Montana. Rita worked at Wal-Mart until 1997, since then she loved to sew and crochet crafts and teach her granddaughters how to sew and crochet. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband, Wendell of Juda; 5 sons: Joseph (Shirley) of Sidney, NE, James (Lori) of Monroe, John (Cherie) of Monticello, Jeffrey (Viola) of Loveland, CO and Jason (Christy) of Windsor, WI; 3 sisters: Karen Kalal of Shakopee, MN, Sandra Pinto Catalao of Provo, UT and Patsy Kelly of Missoula, MT; 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with President Lee Broberg officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon cemetery, Juda. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home and Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the church.
