Richard R. Speich age 77 of Monroe, died peacefully on Sunday evening, August 19, 2012 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home. Richard was born October 2, 1935 in Monroe, the son of Albert and Emma (Weber) Speich. He lived and worked on the family farm until his parents moved to Monroe. Richard enjoyed doing snow removal and mowing lawn for various Monroe families. He could be seen walking with a shovel or lawn mower to one of his various jobs or dining at local restaurants until the time he entered the nursing home. Richard had a kind heart and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his three sisters, Kathryn Cassidy of Hazel Green, WI, Rosemary Wehinger of Monroe, and Joyce (Roger) Norton of Oconomowoc, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Rodney Speich.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 2:30 p.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Reverend Randy Booth officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Richard's family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Monda Hess and her family for their loving care and compassion extended to Richard over the years and to the Monroe Manor for their fine care.
