BRODHEAD - Richard Allen Landen, age 55, of Fort Atkinson, formerly of Brodhead, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Oak Grove Care Home, Fort Atkinson, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 28, 1954 in Monroe, WI, the son of Gunner and Beverly (Stauffacher) Landen.
Rick was well known for doing odd jobs in the Brodhead area. He was an Army veteran and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and biking.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Beverly and John Schulthess, Brodhead, a son, Michael Landen, sisters, Lori Nafzger, Dawn Schulthess, all of Brodhead, brothers, Alan (Betty) Korn, Orfordville, Kevin Schulthess, Monroe, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his second family, Troy Hanson and staff at Oak Grove and residents, Howard, Ron, and Warren. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Mr. Chris Kneubuehl officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home until time of services.
