Raymond D. "Ray" Oles, age 68 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born March 26, 1941 in Michigan, the son of Fred and Ellen (Usitalo) Oles and graduated from Iroquois, South Dakota High School.
Raymond married Connie Erickson on September 16, 1961 in Huron, South Dakota. He was a member of the Musicians Union. Ray and his wife Connie, known as "Ray and Connie" performed nationally and locally for many years. He was also known as a classical pianist, recording artist, and music teacher. Ray will be missed by his family and his many friends and acquaintances in and out of the music industry.
Surviving are his wife, Connie Oles of Monroe, WI; son, Tod (Kara) Oles of Orangeville, IL; daughters, Tamara (Jim) Young of Edmond, OK and Tracy (Sterling) Fairchild of Mukwonago, WI; brother, Robert (Murriel) Oles of Roseville, CA; sister, Nancy Halbur of Nederland, TX; and 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law, Doug Halbur.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe, WI with Rev. David Busker officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at a later date in Huron, South Dakota.
