Police seeking info about burglary

MONROE - On Sept. 2, 2008, Monroe police began an investigation into the burglary at Monroe TV and Appliance located at 2581 6th 1/2 Ave. in Monroe.

Between 2 p.m. Saturday and Tuesday morning, an unknown person or persons forcibly entered the business and removed a number of products and some currency.

According to Police Chief Fred Kelley, the building's owners called to report the break-in.

Members of the Monroe Police Department searched for fingerprints on the front door of the business Tuesday morning. Kelley said there are no suspects yet, but the department is following up on leads.

Monroe Police are encouraging anyone who observed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area to contact the Monroe Police Department at 329-2400 or Green County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-I-C-CRIME. Callers who provide information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash award.
