Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Alan J. Corley and Elwin Soto-Sevilla, both 29 and of Darlington, were cited for disorderly conduct after getting into a verbal and minor physical fight at about 2:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Trailside Bar, 301 Main St.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Donald Lee Martinez, 23, Monroe, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping after a neighbor reported a domestic-related disturbance at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in Martinez's apartment in the 300 block of 3rd Street. Martinez was jailed. His signature bond is set at $1,000 with the condition that he not drink or have contact with the alleged victim.

• Travis P. Bowles, 25, Monticello, was arrested on a probation violation after police responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 2500 block of 13th Street at 11:56 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. Bowles hit a legally parked vehicle and then left the scene. He was also cited for texting while driving, hit-and-run on an unattended vehicle, failure to notify police of an accident, driving without vehicle insurance and failure to maintain control. He was jailed.

• Charles W. Rose, 35, Brodhead, was arrested in the 1800 block of 12th Street at 1:33 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, on a warrant issued by the Rock County Sheriff's Department. He was jailed.

• Kennedy J. Dammen, 19, Monroe, was cited for underage drinking and obstructing an officer after police responded to a noise complaint in the 1600 block of 30th Avenue at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, and Dammen lied about his age.

• Jennifer L. Kitelinger, 30, Monroe, was cited for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and outdoor burning without a permit after police responded to an anonymous complaint of a loud party in the 1000 block of 17th Street at 12:43 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Police found a group of people listening to loud music and sitting outside around an illegal fire. Kitelinger started yelling at and arguing with officers, continuing despite several warnings to settle down. She took out a garden hose to put out the fire and then sprayed an officer with it.

• Rasaan M. Warner, 26, Monroe, was arrested in the 1900 block of 15th Avenue at 3:51 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Stephenson County Sheriff's Department. He was jailed.

On Sunday, Oct. 6:

• A clerk at Stop-N-Go, 1607 9th St., reported at 6:37 a.m. that a Spanish-speaking man with limited English skills pumped gas and then realized he didn't have his wallet on him. A friend came with his wallet and the bill was paid.

• A dog, possibly a Doberman-Lab mix, was found running in the street in the 1700 block of 16th Street and reported to police at 10:58 a.m. The dog was taken to the Green County Humane Society.

• A 911 hangup at 11:18 a.m. traced to the 700 block of 20th Avenue turned out to be a pocket dial and there was no emergency. When police got through, the caller was already in Beloit.

• Stray kittens found in the 1100 block of 11th Street and reported at 4:23 p.m. were taken to the Humane Society.

• A loose dog was reported at 6:57 p.m. in the 1600 block of 9th Street. It was gone by the time police arrived.

On Monday, Oct. 7:

• A 911 caller at 7:20 a.m. reported an erratic driver in the 600 block of 15th Avenue. The vehicle ended up parked on a terrace. The driver was having a medical problem. No one was cited or arrested.

• A dead owl, possibly shot, was reported found in the 2200 block of Haven Lane at 8:12 a.m. Police turned the case over to the Department of Natural Resources.

• A small cat crawled up into a car engine while the vehicle's owner was visiting a business in the 900 block of 17th Avenue. She called police at 11:16 a.m. The cat was taken to the Humane Society.

• Staff at Monroe High School reported an out-of-control 9-year-old boy at 2:55 p.m. The boy was turned over to a parent.

• A bottle of medication was reported lost at 3:01 p.m. in the 1100 block of 29th Avenue.

• Police were called to a mother-daughter dispute at 4:12 p.m. in the 100 block of Swiss Court. No one was cited or arrested.

• Two more kittens were found in the 1100 block of 11th Street at 5:44 p.m. They were taken to the Humane Society.

• A friendly black dog captured out in the country was brought to the police station at 5:55 p.m. The people who found it saw it get hit by a vehicle.

• A stray cat captured in the 1500 block of 8th Street was reported at 6:51 p.m. The Humane Society was full and couldn't take more cats. Police gave the person who found the cat information on other options.

• Another stray cat was reported at 7:34 p.m. in the 500 block of 22nd Street.

• Two people arguing in a church parking lot in the 1700 block of 15th Street were reported at 10:47 p.m. Police found no evidence of domestic abuse, and nobody was arrested or cited.

On Tuesday, Oct. 8:

• A stray cat captured in the 500 block of 22nd Street was reported at 8:20 a.m. and taken to the Humane Society.

• Two barking pitbulls tied up outside a residence were reported at 9:45 a.m. in the 900 block of 11th Street. Police spoke with the owner, who said he'd take them inside.

• A tenant-landlord dispute over property maintenance issues, including mold and bad wiring, was reported at 12:13 p.m. in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street.

• The theft three weeks ago of lawn ornaments from the 2200 block of Edgeview Drive was reported at 12:27 p.m.

• At 4:24 p.m., a resident in the 1600 block of 9th Street reported capturing a cat that appeared to be feral. The Humane Society does not take feral cats and was full, anyway.

• A 911 caller in the 2000 block of Edgeview Drive at 5:18 p.m. reported he was concerned because a female coworker and her boyfriend came to his house and threatened to make an employee complaint about him, alleging he tugged on her shirt. He called 911 again at 9:27 p.m. to report the coworker and her boyfriend were now calling him. The woman called police at 7:08 a.m. the next day to report the man for unwanted behavior. Police are investigating.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9:

• A stray cat that hangs around the Swiss Wheel Rooming House, 1100 30th Street, was reported at 9:26 a.m. The Humane Society was still full.

• A 911 call at 10:53 a.m. was traced to the 200 block of 8th Street. The caller was having phone problems. There was no emergency.

• A female caller at 1:07 p.m. in the 300 block of 4th Street reported she gave money to a future roommate for some errands he was doing and he never came back with the money, as promised. The case is civil, not criminal. Police referred her to court.

• Tall weeds and grass were observed by an officer on patrol at 2:09 p.m. in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue. A notice was sent to the property owner.

• A caller at 2:28 p.m. in the 1300 block of 16th Street alleged her landlady is evicting her because her dog bit the landlady.

• A stray cat with a paw injury was reported at 3:39 p.m. in the 800 block of 15th Avenue. The Humane Society was still full.

• A 911 caller reported a road rage encounter at 4 p.m. in the 700 block of 8th Street. The other driver was gone when police arrived.

• Someone dumping trash into the Dumpster by the Churchhill Woods Apartments in the 800 block of 13th Avenue was reported at 4:50 p.m. Police have leads.

• A 911 caller at 7:31 p.m. in the 1900 block of 11th Street reported she had fallen and could not get back up. Police helped her up.

• Three small kittens were reported at 8:05 p.m. under a vehicle in the 600 block of 8th Avenue. Police did not locate them. The Humane Society was still full, anyway.

• At 8:25 p.m., a woman in the 300 block of 6th Avenue reported she had been shorted $200 in a Craigslist-arranged vehicle purchase. The sale involved a payment agreement of cash and $100 worth of groceries. Police told her the case is civil, not criminal, and referred her to court.

On Thursday, Oct. 10:

• A burglary was reported at 8:06 a.m. at Chuck's Automative Services and Repair, 1206 29th Ave. Cash was discovered missing from the business.

• A resident in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street reported a possible domestic dispute in a neighbor's apartment at 9:49 p.m. No one answered the door at the apartment and police heard no evidence of domestic abuse.

On Friday, Oct. 11:

• Police were called three times to an ongoing argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend at a residence in the 1500 block of 15th Avenue over who gets to live there and who gets the car keys. The first call was a 911 hangup at 3:04 a.m., claimed to be a misdial. The second call was at 10:02 a.m. and the third at 11:38 a.m. Police tried to help calm the situation. No one was cited or arrested.

• An unmowed lawn and yard waste piled outside were reported at 8:44 a.m. in the 800 block of 27th Avenue. A warning notice was sent to the property owner.

• The manager of trailer parks on Haven Lane and Edgeview Drive called to report unregistered vehicles parked at mobile homes there. Warning notices were sent to the owners.

• A truancy from Monroe High School was reported at 11:09 a.m.

• A man in the 1300 block of 25th Avenue was warned not to burn yard waste in his backyard.

• Police were called at 2:46 p.m. to the 1900 block of 15th Avenue for a dispute between exes over a phone. No one was arrested or cited.

• A car's tire was reported punctured, possibly while it was parked at Monroe High School, at 3:37 p.m.

• Police were called at 5:12 p.m. to the 1300 block of 16th 1/2 Street for a dispute between neighbors over a fence. One neighbor accused the other of removing a fence from his property. The case is civil, and police referred them to court.

• Police were called at 7:14 p.m. to the 2900 block of 16th Street for an argument between estranged spouses.

• A teen boy was reported at 9:55 p.m. for skateboarding in the street in the area of 11th Avenue and 11th Street. Police warned him.

On Saturday, Oct. 12:

• A 911 caller at 3:04 a.m. reported a group of males were yelling at each other in the 1600 block of 11th Street. The group was gone by the time police arrived.

• A stray dog that followed a jogger home was reported at 8:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of 18th Avenue. Before police arrived, the jogger called back to say the dog had been retrieved by an owner.

• A female orange-striped cat was reported found at 11:15 a.m. in the 600 block of 22nd Avenue. The Humane Society took it.

• A caller at 11:37 a.m. reported neighbors in the 2300 block of 11th Street for having a party the night before and leaving garbage out. Police saw no garbage. The neighbors said they didn't have a party, they were just moving in.

• A dog running into traffic was reported at 5:26 p.m. in the 1300 block of 21st Street. It was gone by the time police arrived.

• Fireworks being shot off were reported at 6:57 p.m. in the 1000 block of 17th Street. Police did not find anyone setting off fireworks.

• A big dog running loose was reported at 7:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of 29th Avenue. It was gone by the time police arrived.

• A dog running loose was reported at 9:17 p.m. in the 2800 block of 13th Street. The owner was located and issued a written warning.

• Missing medication was reported at 9:38 p.m. from a residence in the 1100 block of 9th Street. Police are following leads.

On Sunday, Oct. 13:

• A cat hanging around in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue was reported at 10:13 a.m. The Humane Society agreed to take it.

• Police were called at 2:55 p.m. to a dispute between a mother and her adult daughter. No one was cited or arrested.

• A set of keys was found and brought at 4:10 p.m. to the police station, where it can be claimed.

• A 41-year-old Monroe woman incapacitated by alcohol was taken to a detox facility in Madison after a family member reported her at 4:37 p.m. at a residence in the 2000 block of 18th Avenue.

• A woman in the 2300 block of 5th Avenue reported receiving a call from an ex-boyfriend she has a restraining order against. He made the call from jail. Police referred the case to the District Attorney.

• An e-reader was reported lost at 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of 14th Avenue.

On Monday, Oct. 14:

• An officer on patrol at 1:15 a.m. in the 2600 block of 8th Street noticed a detached trailer that's been parked several days on the street. A parking ticket was issued.

• Police responded at 8:59 a.m. to a 911 call traced to the area of 3rd Street and 4th Avenue and found no emergency.

• An Illinois man called at 9:53 a.m. to report he and his ex-wife met up at the Super 8 motel for a child visitation and while they were there, she struck him. The ex-wife denied hitting him. Police asked him to come in to fill out paperwork and be evaluated for injuries. He hasn't yet.

• An odor of cats was reported at 4:22 p.m. outside a known cat hoarder's residence in the 1100 block of 19th Street. Police are working with the building inspector and others on the case.

• Police responded at 5:54 p.m. to a 911 call traced to the 900 block of 19th Street and found no emergency.

• An iPod was reported stolen at 9:46 p.m. from a residence in the 1000 block of 4th Avenue West. It was later found. A young teen suspect was identified and he told police he might have taken it by accident.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Monday, Oct. 14:

• Alex J. Gatling, 40, Verona, was arrested after deputies were called at 2:23 a.m. to the 100 block of Church Street in Brooklyn for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Gatling was being sought by the Dane County Sheriff's Department for charges of domestic disorderly conduct and battery. Marijuana was found in his vehicle. He was cited for marijuana possession and turned over to Dane County deputies.

• Dustin Lee Meier, 24, Monroe, turned himself in on a probation warrant at 5:20 p.m. at the Green County Sheriff's Department. He was turned over to jail staff and remains in custody.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Oct. 14:

• A deputy responded to Bethel Grove Road in Kendall Township at 8:47 a.m. for a littering complaint.

• A vehicle parked in the middle of the road on Landon Road in Kendall Township was reported at 9:50 a.m. A responding deputy did not locate the vehicle.

• A deputy took a report of harassment at 3:07 p.m. on Mine Road in New Diggings Township.

• A deputy responded at 10:51 p.m. to a 911 hangup traced to South Galena Road in Elk Grove.
