Monroe Police

MONROE - Patrick N. Clairday, 49, Monroe, was arrested at 8:33 p.m. Saturday for driving while intoxicated, driving without required lamps, driving without insurance and possession of marijuana after officers stopped his vehicle for driving without headlights or tail lights in the 1900 block of 11th Street. Clairday was released pending court.

• Benjamin R. Normington, 29, Monroe, was arrested at 1:56 a.m. Sunday on a hold issued by the Probation and Parole Office in the 700 block of 17th Street. Normington was also cited for driving a vehicle after suspension and non-registration. He was jailed pending court.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Ethan Earl Averill, 20, Dousman, was cited at 2:03 p.m. Friday for driving with a suspended license after deputies responded to a Blanchardville EMS report of Averill tailgating the EMS vehicle on Wisconsin 81 near Wisconsin 69, Monroe. Averill was released pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• A deputy responded to a disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property complaint at 10:45 a.m. on Alma Street, Benton.

• A deputy investigated a harassment complaint on Alma Street, Benton, at 11:40 a.m.

On Saturday:

• A deputy responded at 11:34 a.m. to a report of trespass to land on Paulson Road, Blanchard Township.

• A deputy assisted Argyle police with an unwanted man at a residence on Galena Street, Argyle, at 6:45 p.m.

On Sunday:

• A deputy responded at 2:57 p.m. to a dog running at-large complaint on County Shop Road, Darlington Township.

• A deputy responded to an injured animal complaint at 9:27 p.m. on County N, Argyle Township.



Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Robin D. Fries, 59, Darlington, was cited on Saturday for disorderly conduct following an investigation of an incident that occurred at a Darlington business.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Wednesday:

• Police investigated an alleged sexual assault that occurred at an earlier date. The incident remains under investigation. New Glarus Police Sergeant Jeff Sturdevant said no one has been charged yet as police are still conducting interviews. Sturdevant said the alleged assault occurred in the village but it "wasn't recently," and he said it's too early in the investigation to release when the alleged assault happened. "We're still doing follow-up," Sturdevant said. "We're moving forward but there's still a few more interviews to do."

• Police received a complaint of a middle school student being truant for several days throughout the school year. The juvenile was referred to Juvenile Intake.

• Police checked the welfare of a child who was reportedly walking outside without an adult in the 100 block of 10th Avenue at 4 p.m. Contact was made with the child and parents and everything was found to be OK.

On Thursday:

• Police investigated a gas drive-off complaint at a convenience store on Wisconsin 69, at 11:39 a.m. The person was located and the drive-off was not intentional. The gas was paid for.

• A citizen reported to police at 5:19 p.m. they were contacted by Microsoft, claiming the citizen had a virus. The phone call was determined to be a scam.

• Timothy A. Schmitt, 51, New Glarus, was arrested at 7:58 p.m. for driving while intoxicated, fourth offense, after police stopped his vehicle in the 10 block of 2nd Street for a traffic violation. Schmitt did not immediately stop when police activated the emergency lights and siren. Schmitt was also cited for unsafe lane deviation and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle. Schmitt was jailed pending court. Online court records show Schmitt was convicted of DWI in June 2002; no other record of DWI convictions were found.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - A juvenile boy was cited at 3:25 a.m. March 1 for underage consumption of alcohol, minor presenting alcohol served, curfew violation and underage possession of tobacco in the 1100 block of West 2nd Street. The boy was released pending court.
