MONROE - Miles H. Smith, 36, Monroe, was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct after officers responded to Monroe Clinic's emergency room at 1:39 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, to take a report of domestic abuse. Smith allegedly injured the hand of a 46-year-old woman during an argument. He was booked and then released pending court.
- Attempted but unsuccessful identity theft by phone was reported at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, in the 2200 block of Haven Lane.
