Monroe Police

MONROE - A 19-year-old in the 2000 block of 14th Street reported at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, that she believes her ex-boyfriend starved a dog they got while still together. Police advised her to get the dog checked out at a vet and bring back the results. Police also received a complaint over the weekend from the ex-boyfriend, who alleges she took the dog without his consent.

• A 17-year-old in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue called police at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, to report that a man threatened to "beat him up or do a drive-by" back in August or September. The man never made good on his threat.

• A property owner was warned for having an insufficiently shoveled sidewalk after police investigated an anonymous complaint at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, in the 500 block of 20th Avenue.

• Police were called at 9:52 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, to a dispute between a mother and her 15-year-old daughter at a residence in the 700 block of 12th Avenue. Officers were able to help diffuse the situation.

• A visitor from Georgia reported a lost wallet somewhere in Monroe at 5:43 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6. If found, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.

• Danielle L. Schneider, 17, Monroe, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way while making a left turn after officers responded to a traffic accident without injuries in the 1600 block of 9th Street at 2:39 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7. Schneider collided with a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Anzures, 30, Janesville.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Robert S. Wisdom, 48, New Glarus, was cited for unsafe backing after police responded to a minor two-vehicle crash in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2. Wisdom was backing an SUV out of a driveway when he hit a car stopped on 3rd Avenue. No injuries were reported.

• Police cited a 16-year-old for tobacco possession within school at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3.

• Dennis C. Bruggink, 60, Madison, was cited for speeding in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69 at 11:36 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6.

• Police were dispatched to a 2nd Street residence for a verbal disagreement at 11:01 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4. One person didn't want the other to return to the residence.

• Police were dispatched to a 2nd Street business at 1:23 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, for a verbal disagreement over a game of pool. The bartender had told them to leave. They complied before police arrived.

• A domestic altercation between parents and a child was reported at 1:51 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at an address within the village. The matter was referred to Green County Human Services.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Christopher S. Meritt, 30, no known address, was arrested during a traffic stop on Mills Street south of East Park Street in Browntown at 12:09 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, on warrants issued by Green County and the Monroe Police Department for failure to appear in court. The driver, Chad D. Olson, 22, Browntown, was cited for speeding. Meritt was also charged with obstructing and bail jumping. He remains in custody pending court.

• Cody J. Langmeier, 20, rural Argyle, was arrested on a first-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies investigated a one-vehicle crash on County J north of Wis. 81 in the Town of Monroe at 1:27 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6. Langmeier was northbound when his vehicle veered into the ditch and overturned. He was uninjured. He fled the scene without reporting the accident. Deputies later located him at his residence. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed. Langmeier was also cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and failure to report a crash to law enforcement.

• Corbin G. Hamilton, 20, Monticello, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and second-offense driving while intoxicated after deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the W1700 block of County EE in the Town of Albany at 2:52 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6. He was also cited for reckless driving. He was jailed pending bond or court.

• Jeremy M. Lynch, 26, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license and without proof of vehicle insurance on County K near County KS in the Town of Jefferson at 5:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4.

• Trevor James McGuire, 20, Madison, was cited for first-offense driving while intoxicated after deputies stopped him on Wisconsin 11 at County M in the Town of Cadiz at 2:09 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5. He was also cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance, improper display of registration decals and operating left of center. He was jailed on a 12-hour hold.

• Oscar Luis Toledo-Lozano, 37, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no proof of vehicle insurance at 3:37 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, on Wis. 59 west of Decatur Sylvester Road in the Town of Sylvester.

• Pedro Anastacio-Garcia, 35, Beloit, was cited for driving with a revoked license, having open intoxicants in a vehicle, driving without vehicle insurance and failure to notify law enforcement of a crash after deputies responded to a crash on Wis. 81 east of County M in the Town of Jordan at 11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5. Anastacio-Garcia lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve, veered into the ditch and went airborne off a culvert, causing the vehicle to overturn several times. He then fled the scene on foot and was located by Argyle police in an open business, with injuries. He declined medical treatment. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed.

• A 15-year-old Brodhead girl was cited for driving without a valid license after deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the W100 block of Borchardt Road in the Town of Decatur at 8:09 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6.

• Jose Garcia-Alberto, 32, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance and for speeding after deputies stopped him on Wisconsin 69 south of Cemetery Road in the Town of Mount Pleasant at 2:11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7. A passenger identified as Gabino Guerrero-Luna, 28, Monroe, was cited for having open intoxicants in the vehicle and for obstructing. Another passenger, Abel Garcia-Cano, 30, Monroe, was also cited for open intoxicants.

• Kristina A. Chapman, 27, Monticello, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign after deputies responded to a crash with no injuries in the Town of Adams at 4:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7. Chapman was westbound on County C, reported stopping at the intersection with County J and looking both ways and then pulled out into the intersection. Cortney D. Gilbertson, 18, Argyle, was southbound on County J and swerved to avoid Chapman's vehicle. Gilbertson's vehicle veered into the ditch and went down an embankment hitting several trees and bushes. Her vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene. There was no contact between the vehicles, and Chapman was also able to drive her vehicle from the scene.

DARLINGTON - Jessica A. Baber, 37, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was cited for speeding on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Shullsburg at 8:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4.

• New Glarus, was cited for speeding on Wis. 23 in the Town of Darlington at 9:04 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4.

• Travis J. Hach, 21, Darlington, was cited for driving with a suspended license on County G in the Town of Belmont at 10:58 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5.

• Kyle M. Crawford, 23, Madison, was cited for driving with a suspended license and non-registration of a vehicle on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont at 7:29 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5.

• Karen A. Hicks, 34, Warren, Ill., was cited for speeding on Wis. 11 in the Town of Darlington at 8:39 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5.

• Zachary M. Canfield, 21, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was cited for speeding on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont at 12:25 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6.

• A dog running at large on 2nd Avenue in Benton was reported at 6:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4.

• A deputy assisted Shullsburg police with a disorderly conduct incident at a residence on Water Street in Shullsburg at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5.

• Nicholas J. Howell, 16, Hollandale, was cited for speeding at 3:21 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, on Wisconsin 78 in the Town of Blanchard.

• Trespassing was reported on Lancaster Road in the Town of Lamont at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7.
