Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Leo P. Monton, 43, Darlington, was arrested at his residence at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, on an outstanding warrant issued by Lafayette County.



Monroe Police

MONROE - On Tuesday, Jan. 29:

• Donna M. Trolinger, 30, Monroe, was arrested in the 800 block of Eighth Avenue at 12:52 a.m. on an outstanding warrant issued by the Monroe Police Department for driving while intoxicated. She was jailed.

• Hernan Vazquez Lopez, 37, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and a third-offense charge of driving without a valid license at 3:58 p.m. in the 1900 block of 11th Avenue. He was released pending court.

• A burglary was reported at 10:27 p.m. at Vince's Pizza, 619 Fourth Ave. The break-in occurred sometime during the previous night, and cash was stolen from the restaurant. Police are investigating leads.

• A resident in the 2200 block of Fifth Avenue called police at 11:27 a.m. to report his estranged wife was yelling at their 18-year-old daughter. No one was arrested.

• The manager of Swiss Wheel, 1100 30th St., called at 12:08 p.m. to report he saw a male resident at the rooming house take a downspout off the building and head in the direction of a salvage yard down the road. Police stopped the man before he was able to sell the downspout as scrap metal. The downspout was returned. The man was not charged.

• A resident in the 1400 block of 11th Street reported at 1:37 p.m. that he had found an 80-pound brown dog. He told police he'd look after the dog until it was claimed by its owner. To claim, call dispatch at 608-329-2400.

• Staff at Monroe Manor, 516 26th Ave., reported suspicions at 3:53 p.m. that an employee had fraudulently used a social security number to get hired there.

• Keys were reported stolen out of a locker at the YMCA, 1307 Second St., at 8:44 p.m.

• A woman called at 9:24 p.m. to report that lights were on at her former residence in the 600 block of 18th Avenue. The home had been foreclosed on, and no one is supposed to be living there. Police investigated and found that water damage was recently discovered in the residence and workers were there to fix the problem.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, Jan. 29:

• A deputy transported Justin A. Husemann, 20, Dodgeville, from the Iowa County Jail to the Lafayette County Jail at 11:43 a.m., after Dodgeville police took Husemann into custody on a Lafayette County warrant. Husemann later appeared in court and was released.

• Joseph B. Keyes, 58, Belmont, was cited for failure to obey a stop sign after deputies responded at 2:01 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident in Belmont. Keyes was southbound in a Ford van on Wood Street when he failed to stop at the intersection with East Platteville Avenue and hit a westbound Volvo truck driven by Lowell E. Sperling, 58, Ponsford, Minn. The vehicles were moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Deputies responded to a report at 11:43 a.m. of two out-of-control juvenile males at the Shullsburg school on Judgement Street.
