Monroe Police

MONROE - Police were called to an apartment complex at 4:26 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 in the 700 block of 12th Avenue for a noise complaint. Ralph F. Stammen, 60, Monroe, and Becky C. Hansen-Stammen, 59, Monroe, were allegedly arguing loudly and disturbing other apartments in the building. Both were cited for keeping a disorderly house and Ralph Stammen was arrested for bail jumping, based on a violation of a no alcohol bond condition. Stammen was confined and held for bond at the Green County Jail. Hansen-Stammen was released pending court.

DARLINGTON - On Friday, Jan. 24:

• A deputy responded at 12:36 a.m. to County G, Belmont Township for a report of theft.

• Deputies responded at 2:48 p.m. to County J, Benton, for a report of suspicious activity.

• A deputy responded at 5:14 p.m. to County P, Shullsburg Township for a check of welfare.

On Monday, Jan. 27:

A deputy assisted a motorist with unlocking a vehicle at 9:24 a.m. at a location on Glenville Road, Shullsburg Township.

• A deputy assisted the Lafayette County Highway Department with traffic control at 10:35 a.m. during snow plowing operations on Wis. 11, Gratiot Township.

• A deputy responded to a traffic complaint at 3:43 p.m. of an occupied disabled vehicle on Wis. 11, New Diggings Township.

• A deputy responded to a traffic complaint of a disabled vehicle parked in a lane of traffic on Wis. 11, Benton Township. The vehicle was towed.

• Stephen M. Kirby, 50, Beloit, was cited for speeding at 6:23 p.m., following a traffic stop on Wis. 23, Darlington Township.

• A deputy responded to Bethel Grove Road at 7:30 p.m., Kendall Township to provide traffic control for a disabled vehicle until the vehicle could be removed.

• A deputy responded at 9:21 p.m. to Wis. 81, Darlington Township for a traffic complaint of an erratic driver. Cesar Lopez, 46, Darlington, was arrested for operating while intoxicated and also cited for operating without a driver's license. Lopez was released pending court.

On Saturday, Jan. 25:

• A deputy responded to County G, Kendall Township for a report of a vehicle in the ditch at 4:00 a.m. Upon arrival, the deputy could not locate the vehicle.

• Brian P. Callahan, 51, Rockton, Ill., was cited for speeding at 2:51 p.m. following a traffic stop on Wis. 81, Seymour Township.

• Aaron M. Lawrence, 27, South Wayne, was cited for operating without insurance at 9:56 p.m. following a traffic stop on County D, Wayne Township.

• Deputies responded to County F in Fayette at 11:29 p.m. for a complaint of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival deputies determined the complaint was unfounded.
