Monroe Police

MONROE - On Friday, Jan. 24:

• Police arrested Brett N. Neuschwander, 19, Freeport, at 10:10 a.m. in the 300 block of West 6th Avenue at Walmart for three counts of retail theft. Neuschwander was released pending court.

• Police arrested and charged Timothy S. Miller, 27, Brodhead, at 8:31 p.m. in the 2900 block of 13th Street for bail jumping and operating a vehicle after revocation. Miller was confined in the Green County Jail on a probation hold.

• Police were called to an apartment complex in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue for a report of loud music at 9:57 p.m. The source of the music was located and a male tenant was warned to keep the noise lower.

• Police were called to the 700 block of 12th Avenue for a noise complaint at 10:08 p.m. The source of the noise was located and the female tenant was warned to keep the noise lower.

On Saturday, Jan. 25:

• Chastity M. Adams, 20, Freeport, was cited for a second offense of underage drinking after police investigated an intoxicated person at 2:02 a.m. near 31st Avenue and 13th Street. Adams was released to a responsible party pending court.

• Police took a report at 3:18 p.m. of a man's wallet believed to be lost in the 1600 block of 9th Street. If found, contact the Monroe Police Department, 608-329-2400.

On Sunday, Jan. 26:

• Officers responded to the 1700 block of Wis. 69 at 2:37 a.m. to reports of a vehicle stuck in the snowbank. Shane R. Jackson, 23, Browntown, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, first offense. Jackson was also cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle. Jackson was released to a responsible party pending court.

• Police were called at 12:58 p.m. to the 700 block of 22nd Street for a report of theft of clothing. The incident remains under investigation.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Saturday, Jan. 25:

Deputies responded at 2:15 a.m. to the N8800 block of County O, New Glarus Township for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. Investigation revealed that Brock A. Dockter, 49, New Glarus, was northbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to weather conditions and his vehicle entered the ditch and became stuck. Dockter proceeded to go back to New Glarus and asked for assistance from Casey J. Klossner, 22, Monticello. Klossner gave Dockter a ride back to his vehicle. Both Dockter and Klossner were arrested for OWI, first offense. Both were also cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, they were released to a responsible party.

• Jose Ignacio Sanchez-Baravo, 21, South Beloit, was cited at 3:21 a.m. for operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license. Sanchez-Baravo's vehicle was in a ditch at the intersection of Wis. 11 and County KK, Monroe Township. He was released pending court.

On Sunday, Jan. 26:

• Patrick M. Gerdes, 21, Monroe, was cited at 3:53 p.m. for speeding and operating without a valid driver's license after deputies stopped his vehicle at Wis. 69 near Industrial Drive, New Glarus. He was released pending court.

• Kate L. Poppe, 20, Monroe, was cited at 1:47 a.m. for OWI, first offense, and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration as well as operating too fast for conditions in the N2400 block of Bethel Road, Clarno Township. Poppe was released pending court.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Sunday, Jan. 19:

• Trevor D. Hagen, 25, Naperville, Ill., was cited at 2:37 p.m. for operating a vehicle without insurance in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

• Calen S. Havens, 26, Barneveld, was cited at 6:20 p.m. for non-registration of a vehicle and operating a vehicle without proof of insurance on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Police were requested under mutual aid by the Green County Sheriff's Department at 6:25 p.m. for a disturbance in the W5300 block of Windmill Ridge.

• Police were dispatched at 6:52 p.m. for a report of a juvenile that ran away from home. The juvenile returned home.

• Chelsi S. Langmeier, 22, Argyle, was cited at 10:21 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 for a seatbelt violation.

On Tuesday, Jan. 21:

• Brianna M. Joseph, 21, Evansville, was cited at 3:21 p.m. for operating a vehicle while suspended.

• Police assisted Green County Sheriff's Department with a traffic complaint at 7:48 p.m. in the Village of New Glarus. Police were able to locate and stop the vehicle and assist in the investigation until a deputy arrived on the scene.

On Wednesday, Jan. 22:

• Police responded at 2:32 p.m. to the New Glarus Schools for a possible suicidal student. Green County Human Services was contacted and responded to the scene to assist in evaluating the person.

• Police assisted Green County Sheriff's Department with a disturbance/weapon call on County NN at 5:07 p.m. Officers located the subject walking towards New Glarus Woods State Park. The subject was detained awaiting the arrival of deputies so that contact could be made with the complainant.

• Daniel A. Nommensen, 55, New Glarus, was cited for operating a vehicle without insurance during a traffic stop at 7:34 p.m. on Wis. 69 and 11th Avenue.

On Thursday Jan. 23:

• Police assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at 7:45 a.m.

• Police received a complaint at 3:39 p.m. of a group of juveniles fighting on 2nd Street. The area was checked and contact was made with several groups of juveniles who all stated that no one was fighting.

• Police took a report of an animal bite complaint at 6:53 p.m. in the 400 block of 10th Avenue.

On Saturday Jan. 25:

• Police assisted Green County Sheriff's Department at 2:15 a.m. under mutual aid for a vehicle in the ditch on the N8800 block of County O.

• Police took a report of a possible missing village resident at 6:57 a.m. Information received later was that the resident was OK.

• Police received a report at 12:20 a.m. of a person or persons going door-to-door selling windows, possibly without a peddlers permit.

• Police investigated a dog bite at 1:15 p.m. that occurred in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue. A bite order was completed and forwarded to the Green County Health Department.

• Police found a garage door to a business open with no one around in the 200 block of Industrial Drive at 7:31 p.m. Investigation revealed that the business forgot to close the door. There was no report of anything missing in the business.

On Sunday, Jan. 26:

• Samuel M. Chicker, 20, Monroe was cited at 11:50 a.m. for not wearing a seatbelt, operating a vehicle while suspended and operating a vehicle with suspended registration violations on Wis. 69 at County W.

• Police were dispatched at 5:40 p.m. to the 300 block of Elmer Road for a 911 hang-up. The investigation revealed a child was playing with the phone.

• Police were dispatched at 6:42 p.m. to the 10th block of Wis. 69 for a commercial burglary alarm. It was found to be weather related.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Lucas Rittenhouse, 21, Brodhead, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 19 for four counts of felony burglary, three counts of felony theft, receiving stolen property, and an active warrant issued by Lafayette County Circuit Court. He was transported to the Green County Jail.

• Kelly K. Higbee, 51, Brodhead, was cited for issuance of worthless checks on Monday, Jan. 20. A court date was issued.

• Benamin R. Normington, 28, Brodhead, was cited for no insurance and obstruction of driver's view on Wednesday, Jan. 22, stemming from an incident that occurred on Dec. 29, 2013.

• Robert L Hilliard, 46, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 in the 700 block East 3rd Avenue for defamation, identity theft, unauthorized use of personal information and giving false information for publication. He was transported to the Green County Jail.

• Jessica C. Whitehead, 29, Beloit, was arrested at 10:11 p.m. in the 2600 block of 1st Street for operating without a valid license and driving too fast for conditions on Thursday, Jan. 23. A court date was issued.

• Jessica L. Musil, 24, Genoa, Ill., was cited at 8:28 p.m. Saturday Jan. 25 for operating without a valid license and driving too fast for conditions in the 2500 block of 1st Street. A court date was issued.

• Inwha Shon, 47, Monroe, was cited at 7:48 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street. A court date was issued.



Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Luis Lobato-Vargas, 35, Darlington, was cited at 3:58 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 for operating a vehicle without a valid license following a traffic stop on Lucy Street.
