BRODHEAD - For the week of Jan. 17 to Jan. 23, there were 86 calls for service, 27 citizen assists, 14 security checks, nine EMS calls, eight assists of other agencies, five 911 calls, three traffic stops and three fire calls.
On Jan. 18, a 38-year-old Freeport man was cited at 4:35 p.m. for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street.
On Jan. 19:
A burglary was reported at 8:50 a.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. The matter remains under investigation.
A fraudulent letter was reported at 1:46 p.m. in the 1500 block of East 4th Avenue. The matter remains under investigation.
On Thursday:
Police issued a warning at 10:24 a.m. to a resident in the 700 block of West 2nd Avenue in violation of the junk vehicle ordinance.
A couch was reported abandoned on a terrace at 3:17 p.m. in the 1200 block of 15th Street.
On Friday, a theft was reported at 5:16 p.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue.
On Saturday, a 16-year-old Monroe boy was cited at 10:17 a.m. for driving without a license and speeding in the 100 block of 1st Street.
MONROE POLICE
MONROE - On Friday:
Mario Perez, 20, Monroe, was arrested at 12:34 a.m. for driving while intoxicated and cited for driving without a valid license. Perez was released with a court date.
Chad L. Anderson, 40, Monroe, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. for disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim after a domestic incident was reported in the 500 block of West 21st Street. Anderson was jailed.
On Saturday, Clare K. Curry, 19, and Austin M. Zuck, 19, both of Freeport, were cited at 12:56 a.m. for underage possession and consumption of alcohol in the 1300 block of 17th Street.
On Sunday, Skylier S. Starks, 34, Monroe, was arrested at 8:44 p.m. for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after a 911 hang-up occurred at 8:44 p.m. in the 1700 block of 13th Street. Starks was jailed pending bond.
NEW GLARUS POLICE
NEW GLARUS - On Jan. 18:
A suspicious person was reported at 10:37 a.m. trying to enter a building in the 1100 block of 2nd Street. Everything was found to be fine.
Stephanie A. Cowell, 24, Monroe, was cited at 12:46 p.m. for issuing a worthless check in the 1400 block of Wisconsin 69.
A residential burglar alarm was triggered at 4:21 p.m. in the 600 block of 2nd Street. Everything was found to be fine.
On Jan. 19:
Criminal damage property was reported at 10 a.m. after unknown subjects damaged the ice skating rink in Glarner Park. Anyone with information about the case should contact the New Glarus Police at 527-2145.
A 911 call was made at 7:42 p.m. in the 900 block of Glarner Drive. Everything was found to be fine.
Police removed items from the roadway at 9:23 p.m. at the intersection of Wis. 69 and County W.

Angele A. Tranel, 53, Monroe, was cited at 2:21 p.m. for driving without vehicle insurance on Wis. 69 after police stopped her for a registration violation.
Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 6:50 p.m. in checking the welfare of a suicidal person in the Town of York.

Police supervised a custody exchange at 3:39 p.m. between two parents.

A citizen reported people living in her attic at 6:23 p.m. in the 300 block of Heidi Court. Nobody was found in her attic.

MONROE - On Friday, David L. Knutti, 35, Monroe, was arrested at 7 p.m. on Lafayette County warrants for failure to pay a fine and failure to appear. Knutti was turned over to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.
On Saturday, a subject with an injury to the face was reported at 9:10 a.m. in the W4700 block of Greenbush Road, Town of Sylvester. The subject, Marcus Jordan Phiffer, 20, Brodhead, was arrested on three Brodhead Police warrants for traffic offenses and a Department of Corrections warrant.
