Monroe Police

MONROE - Cody M. Pfingsten, 25, Platteville, was cited for operating after suspension, fourth offense, following a traffic stop in the 2400 block of 9th Street at 10:05 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2. During the stop, officers conducted a K-9 search of the vehicle resulting in the discovery of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Richard S. Vogel, 24, Monroe, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both Pfingsten and Vogel were released pending court.

On Wednesday, Feb. 5:

• Police assisted a citizen in the 700 block of 12th Avenue at 10:37 a.m. who reported receiving phone calls asking the citizen to send money for a questionable reason. No money was sent, and the citizen was given information about blocking phone numbers.

• Police were notified of illegal entry into a residence and theft of a leather jacket in the 1600 block of 16th Street at 1:18 p.m. The theft occurred about one week ago, and there were no signs of forced entry.

• Police were called to a residence at 3:27 p.m. in the 500 block of West 21st Street for a report of a 58-year-old woman incapacitated by alcohol. Officers placed the female in protective custody and transported her to a treatment facility.

• Police took a report from a citizen at 6:19 p.m. in the 1000 block of 7th Avenue for a case of identity theft. The citizen discovered that a person or persons unknown had already filed an income tax return in the citizen's name. The incident remains under investigation.

On Thursday, Feb. 6:

• Police were called to a residence at 12:00 a.m. in the 900 block of 4th Street for a report of theft of money from a debit account. A suspect has been identified and the incident remains under investigation.

• Valerie A. Reichling, 31, Monroe, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. for misdemeanor bail jumping for violating a prohibited bond condition of consuming alcohol in the 900 block of 14th Street while officers were investigating another incident. She was confined in the Green County Jail pending court.

• Anthony C. Genovesi, 23, Monroe, was arrested at 7:28 p.m. in the 2300 block of 5th Avenue for disorderly conduct, resisting officers, intimidating a victim and false imprisonment. Genovesi was confined in the Green County Jail.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Deputies, Belleville Police and EMS responded at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 to a 911 hang-up call at a residence in the W3000 block of Wis. 92, Town of Exeter. Investigation lead to the arrest of Clyde L. Leverton, 42, rural Belleville, for domestic abuse related disorderly conduct, battery, strangulation, intimidation of a victim, false imprisonment and criminal damage to property. Leverton was jailed pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Feb. 6:

• Ronald J. Leifker, 30, Spring Green, was taken into custody at 1:19 p.m. at a residence on Truth Street, Shullsburg for a valid warrant issued by the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Leifker was jailed awaiting transport to Richland County.

• A deputy assisted the Dane County Sheriff's Department with checking a business location in Belmont at 5:30 p.m. to locate a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident in Dane County. Darlington Police also assisted by checking a residence in Darlington. The suspect's vehicle was not located.

• A deputy responded to a barking dog complaint at 7:14 p.m. at a residence on Arbor Street, Benton.
