BRODHEAD POLICE

BRODHEAD - A 16-year-old Brodhead male was arrested for theft and retail theft at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of First Center Avenue. He was released pending court. Another 16-year from Brodhead also was arrested for party to theft and released pending court.

• Ryan Scheider, Brodhead, was cited for two counts of issuing worthless checks Wednesday. He was released pending court.

• Cheryl Brandenburg, Orfordville, was cited for issuing worthless checks Wednesday. She was released pending court.

• Sarah J. Groll, Footville, was cited for driving after suspension following a traffic stop at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of 10th Street. She was released pending court.

MONROE POLICE

MONROE - Jamie L. Splinter, 23, Monroe, was arrested for a probation violation at about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of 30th Street. Splinter was jailed.

GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF

MONROE - Daniel S. Wirth, 38, Orangeville, was arrested for drunken driving and driving without a driver's license following a traffic stop at about 8:30 p.m. Friday on County C near Krause Road in Brooklyn township. He was released pending court.

• Deputies are investigating a mailbox fire at about 11:15 p.m. Friday in the N1800 block of Steiner Road in Clarno township. Deputies report four juveniles had driven to the residence in two vehicles. One juvenile placed a combustible device, such as a flare, inside the mailbox and lit it on fire. The flame also damaged a barrel, used for planting flowers, that was next to the mailbox. Anyone with information can contact the sheriff's department at 328-9400.
