MONROE - Lance J. Ries, 32, Viroqua, was cited for multiple violations after deputies responded at 1:04 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, to a one-vehicle crash on Wisconsin 92 near Freidig Road in the Town of Brooklyn. Ries reportedly failed to negotiate a curve in the road and slid sideways into the ditch, colliding with several trees that caused the vehicle to go airborne, overturn and come to rest on its passenger side. The vehicle sustained severe damages and was towed from the scene. Ries reported no injuries. He was issued citations for driving too fast for the conditions, failure to wear a seatbelt, operating a vehicle without insurance, failing to report a crash to police, committing a hit-and-run and failing to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change.
- Toni N. Burke, 20, Mineral Point, was cited at 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash on County C at Wisconsin 69 that seriously injured Burke and a passenger in her vehicle, Penny S. Masoumi, 55, Vernon, Ala. Burke was transported by the Belleville EMS to the Monroe Clinic, and Masoumi was transported by Med Flight helicoptor to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. The driver of the other vehicle, Mark L. Maier, 47, Monroe, reported no injuries. His vehicle was moderately damaged and towed from the scene. Burke's vehicle was severely damaged and also towed from the scene. Burke, Maier and Masoumi were all wearing seatbelts.
- David Potter, 50, Monroe, was issued citations for having open intoxicants in his vehicle and for his second-offense of driving while under the influence of alcohol after deputies responded at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, to a report of a one-vehicle accident on Smock Valley Road west of Ullom Road in the Town of Jordan. Potter told deputies he'd veered his pickup off the road to avoid hitting deer. He was extricated from the pickup by the Browntown Fire Department and transported to Monroe Clinic for injuries. His vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
- Ronald D. Zeal, 57, Juda, was cited for inattentive driving after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:14 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, on Wis. 69 north of County H in the Town of New Glarus. Zeal reportedly tried to pass a tractor operated by John A. Witt, 42, of rural Monticello, and collided with a vertical tiller attached to the tractor. The farm equipment had visible flashing amber lights. Zeal's vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was driven from the scene. The vertical tiller was moderately damaged. No injuries were reported.

DARLINGTON - Anthony A. Love, 26, Lake Geneva, was cited following a traffic stop at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, on Wisconsin 11 in the Village of South Wayne for driving without a valid license and having an expired vehicle registration and no insurance.
- James M. Pittz, 54, Argyle, was cited for not wearing a seatbelt following a traffic stop at 1:17 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Lamont.
