MONROE - On Thursday, Dec. 6:

- Jeanie L. Smith, 46, Monroe, was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle, failure to notify police of an accident and hit-and-run causing property damage after police located a hit-and-run accident at 3:53 a.m. in the 1100 block of 15th Avenue. The pick-up truck Smith was driving veered off the road and collided with a building, and then she fled on foot. Police later found her at the Monroe Clinic ER being treated for related injuries.

- Police were called to a residence in the 700 block of 12th Avenue at 8:35 a.m. for a malfunctioning oven. The lower element of the oven was sparking. The deputy fire chief of the Monroe Fire Department came and unplugged it. There was no fire.

- A resident in the 1800 block of 16th Avenue reported at 8:53 a.m. that the electrical cords to Christmas lights strung up on his house had been cut. This is the second time this week he has reported similar vandalism.

- A gas drive-off was reported at 11:17 a.m. at Kwik Trip, 1019 9th St.

- An officer on patrol saw a black pitbull running loose in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue at 3:10 p.m. but was unable to catch the dog or locate an owner.

DARLINGTON - Ramon M. Brajas III, Marengo, Ill., was cited for speeding at 5:01 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, on Wisconsin 23 in the Town of Darlington.
