Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - For the week of Dec. 3 to Dec. 9, there were 20 calls for service, 10 vehicle registrations, 51 citizen assists, 20 security checks, nine assists with other agencies, six traffic stops, 12 911 calls and six EMS calls.

On Dec. 7:

• Four vehicles in violation with the city's junk code ordinance were reported between 4: 08 p.m. and 6:19 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 8th Avenue, the 600 block of East 6th Avenue, the 1800 block of West 3rd Avenue and the 1600 block of East 8th Avenue.

On Dec. 8:

• A code violation for a semi off the truck route was reported at 8:04 a.m. in the 1100 block of 25th Avenue. A verbal warning was issued.

• A 40-year-old Freeport, Illinois, man was cited for speeding and no registration at 8:50 a.m. in the 900 block of East 9th Avenue.

• A 19-year-old Brodhead woman was cited for speeding at 12:53 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 9th Avenue.

• A 47-year-old Browntown man was cited for speeding at 1:24 p.m. on 1st Center Avenue.

On Dec. 9:

• A 68-year-old Eastman man was cited for speeding at 9:33 a.m. in the 100 block of 1st Street.

• A 39-year-old Brodhead woman was arrested for driving without a valid license at 11:55 a.m. in the 1100 block of 4th Street.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Dec. 4:

• Property was found and turned in at 10:30 a.m. The item was disposed of per the owner because the card was expired.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff with a traffic stop at 4:58 p.m. on County NN west of Wis. 69.

• Two small dogs running at large was reported at 5:24 p.m. in the area of 5th Street and 6th Avenue.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 8:35 p.m. in the W9600 block of Wis. 39 with a welfare check.

• Tangy M. Grant, 30, New Glarus, was arrested on a probation violation and parole violation/hold at 10:45 p.m. Grant was transported and confined to the Green County Jail.

On Dec. 5:

• Police assisted a citizen with a vehicle unlock at 10:27 a.m. in the 400 block of 5th Avenue.

• Police removed branches from the road at 11:54 p.m. in the 400 block of 4th Avenue.

On Dec. 6:

• Police issued eight written warnings for winter alternate side parking violations at 1:08 a.m.

• Police were notified by the Green County Sheriff that two businesses in New Glarus sold tobacco products to underage persons during checks related to the Wisconsin Wins Campaign.

• Police assisted a citizen with a vehicle unlock at 11:53 a.m. in the 600 block of 2nd Street.

• Police responded to an EMS call at 1:09 p.m. in the 600 block of 2nd Street.

• A found cat was reported at 3:55 p.m. Police are working to locate the cat's owner.

On Dec. 7:

• Police issued four parking citations for alternate side parking violations.

• Police assisted Green County Sheriff at 8:50 a.m. with an investigation.

• Missing keys were reported at 10 a.m.

On Dec. 8:

• Police issued five parking citations for alternate side parking violations.

• A suspicious vehicle/person was reported at 1:52 p.m. involving stolen packages on 13th Avenue. After checking the area, the suspect was thought to be a regular UPS driver using U-Haul for van deliveries. Everything appeared normal and there were no other reports of missing packages from the area.

On Dec. 9:

• Police issued 17 parking citations for alternate side parking violations.

• Police assisted a citizen with a vehicle lockout at 12:41 p.m. in the 600 block of Wis. 69. The vehicle was unlocked without damage.

• A suspicious phone call was reported at 12:19 p.m. after someone said they received a call from the IRS. Citizens are encouraged not to give out personal information if they receive a call from the IRS as this is a scam going around the nation.

• A dead squirrel was removed from the road at 2:42 p.m. A note was sent to the street department.

• A hazard was removed from the road at 5:12 p.m. at Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

On Dec. 10:

• Disorderly conduct was reported at 2:11 a.m. in the 800 block of Wis. 69. Contact was made and the subjects were advised to keep it down.

• Police issued eight alternate side parking citations and seven no parking 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. citations.

• Johns A. Wilinski, 62, Orfordville, was cited for driving without insurance at 5:32 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue. He was stopped for an equipment violation.



Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Claudia L. Hernandez, 18, Darlington was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol Nov. 30 after an investigation of illegal drug activity at a residence on Harriet Street.

• Sara Lidia Chacon Casco, 56, Darlington, was cited for operating without a driver's license Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. on Main Street.

• Andrew Stocks, 32, Darlington, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (2nd offense) at 2:55 a.m. Dec. 9 on Lucy Street. Stocks was booked into the Lafayette County Jail and is being referred for charges of operating after revocation and failing to have an ignition interlock device.

On Dec. 10:

• Teresa Landa-Aquino, 27, Darlington, was cited for operating while suspended, driving without insurance and failing to have her two children properly seat-belted at 10:20 a.m. on Ravine Street.

• Rosanne Losoya, 31, Darlington, was cited for operating after suspension and shoplifting at 5 p.m. at Dollar General.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Monday:

• Jonathan Jamz Herron, 20, Exira, Iowa, was arrested for possession of THC (1st offense) and cited for speeding at 11:06 a.m. in the W3400 block of Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Sylvester. Randy Wayne Fredericksen, 31, Atlantic, Iowa, was arrested and jailed for possession of THC (3rd offense). Both subjects were also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Herron posted bond and was released. Fredericksen remained jailed pending court. Monroe Police K9 assisted.
