Monroe Police

MONROE - Police arrested two 17-year-old boys from Janesville at 2:03 a.m. Friday for theft of a firearm in the 1600 block of 9th Street. Drury J. Niebuhr and Anthony S. Young were jailed pending court and additional charges. Chief of Police Fred Kelley said the responding officer saw the two boys behind a gas station and made contact with them. The officer patted them down and found they each had a pistol. One had a revolver and the other had a semi-automatic pistol; Kelley said they were both .45 caliber handguns. Kelley said the firearms did not belong to them.

• Randall J. Marks, 40, Monroe, was arrested at 9:56 p.m. Saturday for driving while under the influence in the 800 block of 8th Street. Marks was released pending court.

• Cecilia Zepeda, 19, Monroe, was arrested for bail jumping at 6:51 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of 11th Street. Zepeda was jailed pending court.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Friday:

• Christopher Chaddick, 17, rural Monroe, was arrested at 3:01 p.m. for resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal damage to property and domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct in the W8200 block of Wisconsin 11, Town of Cadiz. Chaddick was jailed pending court.

• Richard M. Swieca, 53, Monroe, was arrested for DWI, first offense, after deputies observed his vehicle drive through the median and grass and then into the sheriff's office parking lot in the 2800 block of 6th Street, Monroe. Swieca was also cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and released to a responsible party.

On Saturday:

• Kaytlyn M. Knox, 19, Madison, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol after deputies found her walking on Wisconsin 69 near County DR, Town of Monroe, at 1:10 a.m. Knox was released pending court.

• Matthew B. Austin, 24, Monroe, was arrested at 2:48 a.m. for DWI, first offense, after deputies stopped his vehicle on Church Road at Buckskin Road, Town of Washington. Austin was also cited for defective stop lamps and released to a responsible party.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• A deputy took a report of possible animal neglect occurring at a residence on West Harrison Street, Shullsburg, at 7:44 p.m.

• A deputy responded to a complaint of telephone harassment at 7:50 p.m. on Mineral Street, Shullsburg.

On Saturday:

• A deputy checked the welfare of campers at Lake Joy Campground, Belmont Township, at 1:50 a.m. Belmont police assisted at the scene.

• A deputy took a report of a stolen Utility Task Vehicle at 9:30 p.m. from County D, Fayette Township. The incident remains under investigation.

• Brian R. Riechers, 41, Darlington, was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a report of a damaged mailbox on Shea Drive, Village of Belmont. Riechers was booked and released to a responsible party.

On Sunday:

• A deputy responded to a report of a subject walking on the roadway at 1:08 a.m. of Wisconsin 23, Darlington Township. No one was found in the area.

• A deputy assisted in locating parents who had become separated from a juvenile at Lake Joy Campground, Belmont Township at 10:36 a.m. The parents returned to their campsite a short time later and the child was reunited with his family.

• Michael T. Woodward, 18, and a 16-year-old boy, both from Belmont, were cited at 8:32 p.m. for underage consumption of alcohol after a deputy responded to a suspicious activity complaint on East Main Street, Benton.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Jason P. Briand, 33, Brodhead, was cited at 12:05 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of 1st Center Avenue, for DWI, third offense, driving after revocation, open intoxicants in a vehicle, no registration, displaying unauthorized registration plates and tampering with an ignition interlock device. He was jailed pending court.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Clarence J. Heidenreich, 53, address unknown, was arrested at 11:07 a.m. Tuesday for theft, two counts of bail jumping and attempted battery to an officer after police responded to a theft report in the 500 block of 1st Street. Heidenreich was jailed pending court.

• Gary D. Harris, 64, New Glarus, was arrested at 10:05 p.m. Thursday for domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct after police and Green County deputies responded to the 1100 block of 2nd Street. Harris was jailed pending court.

• Police were dispatched at 9:08 p.m. Saturday to a habitual barking dog complaint in the 700 block of 14th Avenue. Contact was made with the owner and they were issued a verbal warning.
