FOOTVILLE - Paul V. Schmidt, age 93, of Footville passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Woods Crossing in Brodhead. He was born on October 28, 1919 in Monticello to his parents John C. "Jack" and Grace (Legler) Schmidt. Paul attended Brodhead High School. On June 24, 1939 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Pinnow at Dubuque, IA. Paul farmed in the Town of Magnolia for many years until retiring to Footville, WI in 1978. Following his retirement he worked for Footville Equipment Company until 1981 and also helped with area farm work. Paul and Marjorie enjoyed many days at their cottage on Big Lake Chetac.
Paul is survived by a niece MaryAnn (Harold) Cramer of Orfordville, WI, nephews Richard Olin and Robert (Lyvonne) Olin both of Brodhead, WI, Russell (RexeAnn) Olin of Horseshoe Bend, AR, and many cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents John in 1992 and Grace in 2000, wife Marjorie in 2003, a son Duane in 1955, and a brother Burnett.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Brodhead United Methodist Church, 501 1st Center Ave., Brodhead, WI with Pastor Hap Itson officiating with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead.
Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Brodhead United Methodist Church.
