Paul A. Chapman, age 88, of Monroe, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born on December 20, 1926 in South Wayne, the son of John and Mae (Rodham) Chapman and was a 1945 graduate of South Wayne High School.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Paul and June Field were married on June 13, 1948 in Monroe. Paul was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Duck's Unlimited, where he served as a committee member for several years, Smith Lodge #31 F & AM, Cecil Jones V.F.W. Post #2312, Zilmer Riley American Legion Post #84, Paul and June opened up the American Legion Cabin every spring in Minocqua. Paul was an avid hunter and traveler.
Paul worked for the Sunbeam Bread Company, retiring in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, June Chapman of Monroe; son, Paul R. (Jill) Chapman of New Glarus; daughters, Rebecca (Mike) Winter of Orinda, CA; Pam (Jack) Beckstrom of Olney, MT; Joni (Rick Dowd) Chapman of Ashland, WI; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his Parents; and a brother, John.
Private Graveside services will be held at Michael's Cemetery, Cadiz Township, WI. A memorial will be established in Paul's name.
