MONROE - The City of Monroe Water Utility will be flushing water mains throughout the city until May.
Customers are reminded that some discoloration may occur in their water, but officials said the water is safe and not harmful to anyone's health. The discoloration is caused by encrusted minerals being flushed from the walls of the mains. To deal with the discoloration, officials advised turning on the cold water and letting it run until the water is clear.
Anyone with additional questions can contact the Water Utility office at (608) 329-2484, Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
