MONROE - A New Glarus teen, charged with multiple felony counts related to a child pornography investigation, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday in Green County Circuit Court.

Braden T. Schettler, 18, is charged with three counts of possession of child pornography by a person under 18, a class I felony.

Schettler appeared with his attorney, Ronald G. Benavides, before Circuit Judge James Beer.

Benavides said he also plans to file a request of substitution of the judge.

Benavides would not comment on the reason for such a request, saying only that his client did have the right to request a new judge and that they would be exercising that right.

Once paperwork is filed, Schettler will be notified for a date of an arraignment.

The criminal complaint was filed on May 10, and alleges that Schettler possessed digital images of children engaged in sexual acts.
