Missing Monroe resident discovered near Stoughton

MONROE - Missing person Roger S. Mahlkuch, 62, was located in the Stoughton area by deputies from the Dane County Sheriff's Department and officers from Stoughton Police, according to Monroe Police.

Mahlkuch was reported missing at about 3:30 p.m. July 1 to the Monroe Police.

Malhkuch had been last seen Tuesday, June 30, when he left his office in Monroe to go to an apartment in Belleville. A phone call at about 2 p.m. was made from his cell phone to cancel the appointment. Monroe Police ascertained that the call was made from just south of Belleville in northern Green County.

Monroe Police initiated a nationwide search for Mahlkuch because of Mahlkuch's medical problems, and it was not known whether he had taken necessary medication with him. His disappearance was considered abnormal, but foul play was not suspected.
