Michael Milo Friedrichs came to his parents, Ken and Mary, from the Philippines on September 29th, 1988. He was born as Dominic on October 4th, 1987, where he waited until meeting his loving and welcoming family in Monroe.
He graduated from Monroe High School in 2006. Michael found that art classes were his true love. He received a Scholastic Art Award for a ceramic and glass piece that went on exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
Other interests were all types of sports including soccer, swimming, skiing, basketball, scuba diving and football. He later became involved in running, biking and weight training. Cooking for family and friends and cheering the Packers and Brewers were other favorite activities.
He enjoyed his years as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, with his dad as Troop Leader. Going to Sea Base in Florida and Philmont Scout Ranch with the Scouts were two great adventures. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout after doing his service project at the Kiwanis Youth Cabin.
Michael's most recent years have been very difficult as he struggled with drug addiction and its effect on his life and that of his family and friends.
Michael's family include his parents Mary Friedrichs and Ken Friedrichs (Angie Woodward); aunts and uncles Margaret and Charlie Bratz and cousins Peter and Kateri; Patricia and Phillip Stroupe; Susan and Jerry Dietzel and cousins Andy and Theresa; cousin Megan Sardeson (Curtis) with children Chase and Zoe; and cousin Rachel Winden. His best friend Whitney Driver, along with her mother Marley, were always there for Michael.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Michael and Doloris Laverty and Milo and Frances Friedrichs, and aunt Barbara Friedrichs. His family meant a great deal to Michael; he especially loved holidays, trips, and get-togethers.
Friends were very important to Michael and he cherished them all. He was a generous person who made others feel special.
