Michael D. Tazioli, age 67 of Monroe, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his home. Mike was born September 8, 1949 in Highland Park, IL, the son of John and Marie (Mathias) Tazioli. He graduated from high school in Highland Park and was stationed in Korea while serving with the U.S. Army from 1969-1971. Mike was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Berger Excavating of Highland Park for many years before retiring and moving to Monroe in 2007.
He is survived by a sister, Jean Tazioli of Wittenberg, AZ; and two special friends, Bill Hartwig and Diane Elliman. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Jr.; and the love of his life, Monet; his champion English Pointer show dog.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at the Monroe American Legion Post #84, 1627 12th Avenue, with Reverend Randy Booth officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
