Mary Lou Pick

Mary Lou Pick, age 84, of Monroe died on Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on December 20, 1925 in Monroe, the daughter of Harry and Hulda (Regez) Keegan. She was a 1943 graduate of Monroe High School, a 1967 graduate of Green County Teachers College and earned her masters degree in Behavioral Disabilities in 1975 from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Mary Lou and Henry R. Pick were married on January 27, 1944. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church, where she served as an ecumenical minister for St. Victor's at Pleasant View Nursing Home, also volunteered at St. Victor's School and the C.C.D. Mary Lou taught at Juda Schools for 24 years where she served as president of the Juda Education Association and on negotiations, she was also a member of the Green County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Clarno Homemakers, Clarno Exchange Club, Green County Historical Society and Historic Monroe, also the Monroe Senior Center where she did volunteer work. Mary Lou served as a 4-H leader for 17 years and served as secretary of Green County 4-H Leader's Council. She loved her Church and especially spending time with her family. Mary Lou's hobbies included genealogy, flowers, Monroe history, bridge and she was a Packer fan.

Surviving is her husband, Henry of Monroe; children, Robert (Cathy) Pick of Littleton, Colorado, Kenneth (Tai) Pick of Monroe, Marilyn (Charles) Line of Janesville; grandchildren, Charlie (Karen Weiland) Line of Janesville, Lisa-Marie Line (Cory Buggs, husband) of Somerset, Kentucky, Christina (Tom) Becker, Lannie and Tina Pick, Jessica and Kenny Jr. Pick, all of Monroe; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Noah Becker, Haley Pick, Justin Rackow, Corey Flannery, all of Monroe, Taylor Line of Janesville, and Calvin Buggs of Somerset, Kentucky. She is predeceased by her parents; son, Henry David Pick; great-grandson, David Alan Pick and a beloved aunt, Margaret O'Neill.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at St. Victor Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Fr. Michael E. Klarer, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. A Rosary will be read on Friday evening at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Juda Scholarship Fund and the Apostolate to the Handicapped in Mary Lou's memory.
