Mary Ann Blum, age 90, of Monroe, died on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 30, 1925, the daughter of Walburga and Benjamin Meichtry.

Mary Ann and Delbert were married on January 22, 1945 at St. Victor's Catholic Church in Monroe.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Debra) Blum of Monroe, Linda Blum of Madison, Gloria (John) Etter of Middleton, Rosann (Terry) Hoover of Appleton, Marcia (Greg) Foster of Phelps; sisters, Olga Preston and Therese (Gene) Snyder, both of Monroe; 12 grandchildren; and, 19 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, Delbert, son, Delbert Blum Jr., grandson, Nicholas Foster, brother, Theodore Meichtry, and sisters, Margaret Benkert and Elsie Nussbaum.

Mary Ann loved cooking, baking and reading. Friends and family were always welcome to the Blum home for loving meals, which were frequently followed by home-made gooseberry pie. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A special thank you to Darrin, Val and Family for the love and support. Also, many thanks to Joyce and her devoted staff for making this last year comfortable and blessed for Mary Ann.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 11, 2015 at 11:00 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor's Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael Klarer as Celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 10th, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to your charity of choice.
