JANESVILLE - Marsha L. Hahn, age 51, of Janesville, died Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 2009 at the Ellen and Peter Johnson Hospice Center in Fitchburg following a long, courageous battle against cancer. She was born March 7, 1958 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of the late Charles and Marjorie (Durrstein) Suda. She was a graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1976. She graduated in May of 2008 from MATC with an associate's degree as an occupational therapist assistant.
She had worked as an aide for the Janesville School District at Adams School. She also had worked for Fairview Floral. She was ready to begin working as an occupational therapist for the Fort Health System, Ft. Atkinson, when her illness was found. Marsha had been very active with the Girl Scouts of America, having been the recipient of the Silver Award, and had been the leader for her daughters' troop.
Marsha enjoyed gardening, flowers, and camping. She always had a great love of the outdoors. She was very skilled with crafts, and loved animals, especially her dogs, Parker and Clifford. She will be remembered by everyone as a very devoted and loyal friend to all. She was a wonderful Mom to her daughters and all of their friends, and was a loving, caring and positive person.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Cory (Ben) Lane, of Madison, and Kristin Hahn, of Milwaukee; her devoted partner, Jan Harris, of Janesville; her former husband, friend, and father of her daughters, Jeff Hahn, also of Janesville; her nieces and nephews, Connie Hawkins and her daughter Savannah, Brad Saalsaa, Ryan Hahn, Benjamin Hahn, Jordan Hahn, Matthew Hahn, Erin Hahn, Mitchell Hahn, Thomas Sturdy, and Molly Sturdy; and by many friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Suda, and by her sister, Carolyn Saalsaa.
Funeral services with a Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1245 Clark St., with Fr. Randy Timmerman officiating. Private inurnment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until noon at the CHURCH.
