Marjorie Splinter Anderson, age 86, passed away on February 28, 2017. She was born on February 27, 1931, to parents Paul and Cecelia (Menehan) Splinter in Argyle, Wisconsin. She attended and graduated from Argyle High School in 1948. She graduated from Green County Normal School and later received her Bachelor of Science degree from UW-Platteville in 1965. The majority of her teaching years were in the elementary grades in Argyle Public Schools.
Marjorie and Henry (Hank) Anderson were married on June 8, 1950 in St. Joseph's Rectory in Argyle. Marjorie is survived by her four children, Mark, Eric, Susan (Pete) Madson and Marta (Tom) Broge; six grandchildren, Marjorie Anderson II, Eric Rory Anderson, Sarah (Stephen) Elmer, Henry John Anderson, Andi (Kevin) Phillips, and Alex Broge; and five great-grandchildren, Mystika Sors, Julia Anderson and Carson, Grant and Reese Elmer. She is further survived by four step-grandchildren, Mary Hangai, Susan Severson, Craig (Molly) Madson and Brian (Jackie) Madson; seven step-great-grandchildren, Kyle Severson, Nick and Jake Madson, Daniel and Joel Hangai and Luke and Megan Madson; a sister-in-law, Shirley Splinter and many nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Hank, a daughter Christine, her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Marie (Jerry) Young, and her brother Leo Splinter.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 2:30 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. where a rosary will be prayed at 2:30 P.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (213 N. Lafayette St, Argyle) a branch of St. Isidore Parish. A visitation will also take place on Monday, March 6, 2017, at the church starting at 9:30 A.M. A Novena and Time of Remembrance will commence at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. with Rev. Tom Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Argyle.
