Marilyn D. Kilgore, age 81, of Monroe, Wisconsin (formerly of East Dubuque, IL), died on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home. She was born in Akron, Ohio on March 12, 1928 the daughter of Robert and Emma (Atwater) Wolcott of Tallmadge and later Randolph, Ohio.
On November 10, 1947 Marilyn married Gordon Kilgore, and the couple had 5 children. They were married 39 years. In 1976 Marilyn earned an Elementary Education Degree from University of Dubuque. She taught school in Galena and the Dubuque area. Marilyn enjoyed music, sewing, gardening and people.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Patrick (Sherry) Kilgore of Lebanon, PA, Michael (Monica) Kilgore of Dubuque, IA, Charles (Jo Anne) Kilgore of Albuquerque, NM; a daughter, Joyce (Brian) Carlin of New Glarus, WI; a sister, Margery Balthis of Kent, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Curtis James in 1977; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Wolcott.
A private memorial service will be held on January 9, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe, WI.
