FREEPORT - Marilyn D. Babler, 88, formerly of Orangeville, IL passed away on Friday March 6, 2015 at the Liberty Village Manor Court, Freeport, IL. Marilyn was born on April 2, 1926 in Clarno Twp. Green Co. WI. She was the daughter of Alvin W. and Hilda M. (Matzke) Priewe. She was a graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1943. She married Roswell C. Babler on May 16, 1945 in Monroe, WI. Roswell preceded her in death on March 22, 2009. She was employed by Micro Switch from 1943-1945, then Marilyn and Roswell began farming many years in Buckeye Twp, known to many as the Gravel Creek Family Farm. They retired in 1970. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, canning, and was active in all areas of dairy farm life. She enjoyed her family, playing cards, domino's and bingo. In 1987 at 71 years of age she learned to use the computer. She was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church and previously the EUB church in Alfokey until 1971. She served in many areas of the church. Sunday school teacher and financial secretary for many years. She was member of the Women's club, Quilter's club and Bible study group. She served as secretary of the Orangeville Fair Board, election judge for Orangeville, and secretary for the tenants meetings at Liberty Village.

Survived by; daughters; Carolyn (John) Luthy of Morton, IL, Dorothy Arn of Freeport, IL, Lois (Ronald) Sigafus of Ringling, MT, a son David (Jean) Babler of Leawood, KS and daughter Rose (Thomas) Riha of Irvine, CA, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grand children, 2 step great great grand children, one sister Carol Marty of Monroe, WI sister-in-law; Violet Babler of Elgin, IL

Preceded in death by, her parents, husband Roswell, one brother; Kenneth Priewe and his wife Mavis and their son Bill Priewe, a brother-in-law Henry Marty and her son in law Stephan Arn.

Services 11:00 Monday March 9, 2015 at the Orangeville United Methodist Church, Orangeville, IL.

Visitation Sunday March 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Cramer-Leamon Funeral Home and on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service.

Pastor Judy Scherk will officiate the service.

A luncheon will served at the church following the service.

Burial will take place 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory.
