Marie M. Blumer
Marie Madeline Blumer, 98, a resident of St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home and a lifelong resident of Spring Brook Township died Thursday in the Villa. Her husband was the late Jacob Blumer who died 1961.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna Ott Zurcher. Educated in Spring Brook Township schools, she was a member of Maple Lake United Methodist Church for over 70 years and its Women's Society.

She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are: a son, James Blumer, and his wife, Joan, Spring Brook Township; two daughters, Ann Marie Rufer, Monroe, WI and Jane Williams, and her husband, Kenneth, Wyalusing, PA; grandchildren: Jim, Brad, Gary, Corey, Russell, Susan, Mark, and Amy; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Frances Blumer, Spring Brook Township; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Roy Rufer; three sisters, Margaret Flyte, Ida Scull, and Verna Zurcher; and a brother, Albert Zurcher.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Maple Lake United Methodist Church, 632 Route 690, Spring Brook Township, with Rev. Jon Buxton, officiating. Interment, Maple Lake Church Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday in the church.
