Margaret Loveland Selvick, age 90, died November 14, 2010 at the Denver Hospice, Denver, after a brief illness. A long-time resident of Monroe, she was the owner of Milady's Dress Shop, on the west side of the square, for 25 years. Margaret was born in Juda, Wis. on March 15, 1920, the daughter of Anna and Gustav Schmoldt. She was a gourmet cook, avid gardener, seamstress, and interior designer. In 1963, Mr. and Mrs. Cy Loveland bought the General West's Octagon house at 1410 17th Ave. in Monroe. After five years of hard, painstaking work, mostly done by her "bare hands," Mrs. Loveland restored the house to its former glory. Mrs. Loveland opened the home often for public tours, and had many fashion style shows there presenting Milady's fashions. Mrs. Loveland was a member of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Republican Party, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, and Faith Presbyterian Church in Aurora, Colo. After 25 years in the dress shop business, she married Earl Selvick and moved to Denver, Colo. to be near her daughter, Tana. She will forever be cherished for her love, her smile, her fashion sense, her beautiful jewelry and the color "pink." She is survived by her daughter, Tana Kae Lutterman, Aurora; five grandsons: Andre and Peter Loveland, and Randy, Jeffrey and Barry Lutterman; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Loveland, and her husbands, Cyril James Loveland and Earl Selvick. She was remembered at a memorial service on May 7, 2011 at Colorado Community Church. She will always be remembered as the best and most-loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an inspiration to her family and everyone who knew her for her work ethic, love of God, and devotion to family. She will be forever missed!
