Margaret A. Huntley age 84 of Brodhead died Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville following complications from heart surgery.

Margaret was born November 27, 1926 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of William and Viva (Barker) Hoeft.

She attended Monroe High School and earned her G.E.D. at the age of 53. She married Leland S. Huntley on December 4, 1943 at the Zwingli UCC in Monticello. Margaret drove school bus in Brodhead for several years. She had her CDL license which she used to spell Leland on long truck trips for Diamond Transport.

Most recently Margaret was employed for 13 years by Ogden Mfg. of Albany and Orfordville.

She loved to crochet caps for the troops overseas, make baby afghans, enjoyed reading, and all types of puzzles especially crosswords.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leland Huntley of Brodhead; two daughters, Mary Huntley of Tomahawk, WI, and Marsha Weber of Marion, WI; a sister-in-law, Linda Huntley of Janesville; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leland (Karen) Hoeft of Sierra Vista, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Margaret "Marnie" Marty; and a son, Marty Huntley.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Highland Cemetery, Monticello, followed by a luncheon at Zwingli UCC, Monticello. Visitation will be at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
