MONROE - A Brodhead man was sentenced to four years probation and six months in jail with work release privileges Tuesday in Green County Circuit Court for committing lewd acts with a child.
David A. Scofield, 19, pleaded no contest to causing a child to view sexual activity, a class H felony, and causing the girl to expose herself and exposing himself to a child, both class A misdemeanors. He faced more than seven years in prison and up to $40,000 in fines.
Court records indicate he committed the acts with a 13-year-old girl April 14 at a Brodhead residence.
In a separate case, he was sentenced to four years probation after he pleaded no contest to bail jumping.
He faced up to six years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines for the class H felony.
Court records indicate he had contact with minors while on bail in the previous case, which violated his bond.
