Man pleads guilty to pimping women in Darlington

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A 35-year-old Iowa man admitted last week in federal court that he pimped women in Darlington and in Galena, Ill.

Marvin Reyes, Dubuque, pleaded guilty to one count of transporting a woman from Iowa to Galena from 2008 to 2009, with the intent that she prostitute herself, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Iowa.

In a plea agreement, he also admitted to arranging for men to pay for sex with women in Darlington and Galena during the same time period. In some cases, he transported girls under the age of 18 to these cities, with the intent that they perform sex acts for money.

Darlington police helped catch Reyes, along with Dubuque Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

Reyes is free on bond. His sentencing will be set after a presentence report is finished. He faces up to 10 years in prison, five years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
