BROWNTOWN - A Monroe man was arrested on his fourth offense of driving while intoxicated and flown by helicopter to a Madison hospital after a crash Wednesday, April 4, near Browntown.
Dale L. Finley, 30, was heading westbound in the 7900 block of Franklin Road at about 5 p.m. when he veered onto the grass shoulder, overcorrected and traveled across the road into the ditch and then slid up an embankment, causing the vehicle to roll, according to a Green County Sheriff's Department report.
The impact of the rolling vehicle ejected Finley, who was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported by MedFlight to the University of Wisconsin Hospital.
As of Thursday morning, the hospital reported he was in fair condition.
The vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. Browntown Fire and First Response and Monroe EMS also assisted at the scene.
