MONROE - A Monticello man was arrested after he fled police in his vehicle and later on foot at about 2 a.m. Wednesday in Monroe township and in the City of Monroe.
Andrew A. Mudgett, 23, was arrested for second-offense drunken driving, fleeing an officer and resisting arrest. He was also cited for speeding.
He was jailed pending court.
According to the Green County Sheriff's Department, deputies tried to stop Mudgett's vehicle in the N3400 block of Wisconsin 69 in Monroe township. He failed to stop for the deputy and entered Monroe on 18th Avenue.
Mudgett eventually stopped his vehicle, but then fled on foot from deputies and Monroe Police officers. He was taken into custody after a short pursuit.
