Luella M. Masters

Luella M. Masters, age 80, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on March 21, 1930 in Cadiz Township; the daughter of Charles and Laura (Linderman) Zettle. Luella graduated from Monroe H.S. in 1948. She lived in California for 30 years, then moved to Colorado for several years, then back to Browntown in 2004 and Monroe in 2008. She married Nick Masters in Oregon in 1998. She worked as a bookkeeper for several companies. She was a member of Staver United Methodist Church. Luella enjoyed crafts, computers and gardening.

She is survived by a sister, Norma (Oscar) Olson of Browntown; 3 nieces: Cindy (Douglas) Yelk of Mashall, WI, Tracy (Eric) Beckman of Browntown, and Rebecca (Lance) Marty of Browntown; a special cousin, Lois Colney of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul E. Gregersen officiating. Burial will be in Staver Cemetery. A visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Luella's name to either Staver Cemetery Assoc. or Staver United Methodist Church.
