Lucretia D. Rood, age 66, formerly of Monroe, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at her home in Madison. She was born on July 29, 1942, the daughter of Victor and Dardanella (Schulthess) Rood. She was employed at Madison Opportunity Center, Frederick Center and Willie Street Co-op in Madison. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church of Monroe.

Survivors include her sister, Anita (Dale) Wernicke, Lena, IL; nephew, Ryan (Christina) Wernicke, St. Charles, IL; cousins, Delores (Steve) Balsley, Fred (Linda) Lauper, Jim (Rebecca) Schulthess, Gary (Linda) Schulthess, Bruce (Christine) Schulthess, Paul (Kay) Ketterer and Neil (Nancy) Ketterer.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Gunderson Funeral Home East, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, with Reverend Paul Ketterer officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home in Madison until time of service. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home of Monroe is assisting the family.
