LuAnn K. Lantta, age 58 of Janesville, formerly of Monroe, died on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Meriter Hospital in Madison, after courageously battling several health issues. She was born on April 8, 1954, the daughter of Vernon and Edith (Schwitz) Elmer. LuAnn graduated from Monroe High School in 1972 and married John Lantta on April 25, 1998 in Janesville. John is the son of Stanley and Vivian Lantta of Saxon, Wisconsin.

Despite failing health, LuAnn kept her quick wit and optimistic attitude, and continued to enjoy crafting, spending time with family, and playing Bingo and a variety of other games.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by step-children, Melissa (Michael) Lantta O'Russa of Madison, and Janet (Brian) Lantta Davis, Matt Lantta, Wendy Miller and Karien Miller, all of Janesville; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Beth Herrick) Elmer of Chanhassen, MN; two sisters, Connie (Steve) Henze of West Bend and Judith Cleasby of Brodhead; beloved nieces and great nieces; nephews and great nephews; and her father's fiancé Rosemarye Showers. She is predeceased by her parents and a great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., Monroe.
