September 30, 1915 - November 01, 2012

Louise Scharer was dearly blessed with family, friends and travel during her 97 years of life.

Family and friends were enriched with her ever-present Southern style and grace. Born near Charleston, SC, Louise, amazingly, retained her distinguishable accent that charmed many. Louise and her late husband, Charles W. Scharer, shared their enduring passion for music and dance with all. They delighted their grandchildren Dennis Zentner, Audra Zentner and Debbie Turner with unforgettable favorites from The Big Band Era. Undoubtedly, too, Louise would want to thank the local musical talent for endless hours of pleasure. Authentic Southern cooking was a top priority with Louise; her carefully tended vegetable gardens produced an abundance of ingredients for perennial dishes. Although Louise enjoyed traveling extensively, she always sought solace in rural, agricultural life where she lovingly cared for her flowers and countless pets. The last few years of her life were spent in Harmony Assisted Living where staff marveled at her agility, sense of humor, and gentle care for other residents. A private graveside memorial will be held at Old York Church, Blanchardville, WI in the spring. Louise is survived by her daughter, Deana M. Zentner, son-in-law, M. Richard Zentner, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
