ORANGEVILLE - Loral Metz of Orangeville passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008. He was born to Leo and Helene (Schrader) Metz at home in Waddams Township on July 17, 1934. He married Carol Folgate on June 20, 1954 in Orangeville. Loral graduated from the Orangeville High School in 1952. He loved playing with and watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing cards with the neighborhood card club. He was also proud of being a dairy farmer. Loral was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church, the Stephenson County Beef Association, and the American Milk Producers Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; a son, Timothy (Allison Jarrett) of Ames, IA; two daughters, Angela (Steven) Birr of Orangeville and Michele (Stacey) Vorhes of Fishtail, MT; 9 grandchildren, Andrew, Carolyn, and Dallas Metz, Amanda, Zachary, Logan, and Travis Birr, and Hannah, Jesse Vorhes; 2 great-grandchildren, Cheyanne, Abigail Christians; and a sister, Yvonne Lehman of Monroe, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Maynard and Norman.

Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the Orangeville United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the Orangeville United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. James Ketzel.

Burial will take place following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.

Following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the Orangeville United Methodist Church.

A memorial has been established in his name.
