Lois R. Mason age 82, of Lakeland, Florida died unexpectedly on Thursday August 23, 2012. She was born October 8,1929 in Monroe Wisconsin the daughter of Roy and Ada (Benkert) Speich. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1947, from University of Wisconsin, La Crosse in 1951.
Lois and Gene Mason were married August 20,1953 at St. Victors in Monroe. Lois taught in elementary schools at Beaver Dam, Green Bay, Cuba City, Lake Mills, Waupun, Monroe and Morrisonville Wisconsin. She was a member of the WEA Retired Teachers Association, Cypress Lakes Country Club, Wolf Hollow Golf Course. She was an avid golfer having made four hole in ones. Her greatest joys were spending time with her sons and daughters and attending her grandchildren's activities. She was proud of the fact that she was in attendance at every one of Genes basketball games he played in or coached.
She is survived by her husband, her children Jim (Jill) Mason, Mary (John) Robertson, Tom (Teresa) Mason, Julie (Mike) Spuhler, Holly (Phaedra) Christou-Mason; sisters Letta Moon, Deena (Larry) Wuetrich; grandchildren Jennifer (Chris) Wagner, Jason Robertson, Joe Robertson, David Robertson, Cora Spuhler, Tyler Mason, Brian Spuhler, Hanna Mason, Sara Spuhler, Kayla Christou-Mason, Calli Mason; great grandchildren Rowan Wagner, Callan Wagner. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter Nancy (Kirk) Foley, grandchildren Tim, Kelly, Katie, Lauren, Sean Foley; sister Marianne Boss; brothers-in-law Don Boss, Bill Moon.
A celebration of Lois' life will be held at the Heritage House in Monroe on October 14, 2012 at 11:30 a.m.
