Monroe Police 

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 8:14 p.m. Dec. 17 on 17th Avenue and 16th Street. Matthew B. Austin, 32, Monroe, was northbound on 17th Ave. and rear-ended a vehicle stopped at the stop sign operated by a 34-year-old Monticello woman. Both vehicles sustained moderate to severe damage. They were towed. Austin was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated. He was also cited for inattentive driving. He was released to a responsible party. 

 

Green County Sheriff 

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a vehicle vs. telephone pole crash at 6:56 p.m. Dec. 18 in the N3900 block of County F, Town of Decatur. Sergio Martinez-Suarez, 28, Brodhead, was northbound when he exited the roadway, over corrected and exited the roadway again. He hit an embankment and a power pole. The vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. He was cited for driving without a valid license, his second offense within three years, no vehicle insurance and failure to maintain control of vehicle. Brodhead Fire Department and Albany EMS assisted. 

●  No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle accident at 2:43 a.m. Dec. 19 in the W8000 block of County P, Town of Cadiz. Cody M. Kuhlmyer, 23, South Wayne, was westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve causing his vehicle to exit the roadway and enter the ditch. He was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence. He was also cited for failure to maintain control and open intoxicants in vehicle. His vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. He was released to a responsible party. 

On Dec. 21:

●  Injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 12:56 p.m. on English Settlement Road and Wis. 104, Town of Albany. Ran Yoo, 37, Brodhead, was southbound when a northbound vehicle operated by John J. Cwiok, 80, Hanover Park, failed to yield right of way when making a left turn and hit Yoo’s vehicle. Both vehicles were towed. Cwiok’s vehicle had airbag deployment. Cwiok was cited for failure to yield right of way making a left turn. 

●  Kimber L. Raemisch, 34, Monroe, was transported by EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for evaluation of injuries sustained from a single-vehicle rollover crash at 10:38 p.m. Dec. 23 in the N2100 block of Dill Road, Town of Cadiz. She was northbound when she looked down at her phone and was driving on the east shoulder when looked back up. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. She was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence. She was also cited for failure to maintain control of vehicle and inattentive driving. She was released to a responsible party. Green County EMS, Browntown Fire Department and Browntown First Response assisted. 

On Dec. 24: 

●  No injuries were reported from a car vs. sign accident at 12:18 a.m. on County F and Tin Can Road, Town of Albany. David K. Meinolf, 41, Albany, was westbound on County F when he swerved to hit an animal and hit a traffic sign. His vehicle sustained functional damage. 

●  No injuries were reported from a vehicle in the ditch at 8:15 p.m. in the N9500 block of Legler Road, Town of Brooklyn. Joanne E. Lien, 75, Brooklyn, was southbound attempting to turn onto Alpine Road when she entered the ditch and got stuck due to the fog. Her vehicle sustained functional damage.


 

Lafayette County Sheriff 

DARLINGTON — On Dec. 16: 

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 7;13 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont. Michael J. Omailia, 55, Belmont, was southbound when he lost control of his vehicle, exited the roadway and hit a tree. His 2004 Pontiac sustained severe damage. It was towed. 

●  Roy Berrey, 68, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 10:28 p.m. on County G, Town of Argyle. His 2014 Chevrolet sustained minor damage. 

●  Christina J. Meylor, 42, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 5:18 p.m. Dec. 18 on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. Her 2017 Ford sustained moderate damage. 

On Dec. 20: 

●  Ryan M. Rygh, 32, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 6:53 a.m. on Spring Brook Road, Town of Wayne. His 2020 Ford sustained minor damage. 

●  David L. Gabel, 77, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 9:31 a.m. on Riverside Road, Town of Wiota. His 2015 Dodge sustained minor damage. 

On Dec. 23: 

●  Christopher J. Jackson, 51, Apopka, Florida, was transported by Shullsburg EMS to the hospital for evaluation of injuries sustained from a one-vehicle accident at 5:20 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. He was eastbound operating a 2019 Freightliner when he entered the ditch, hit a bridge, drove through a fence and hit a tree. The semi sustained disabling damage. It was towed. Shullsburg Fire assisted. 

●  Hans P. McGrath, 74, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 5:13 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. His 2013 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage. 

●  No injuries were reported from a vehicle vs. horse accident at 10:09 p.m. Dec. 25 on County Z, Town of Darlington. She was eastbound when she hit a horse. Her 2013 Ford sustained moderate damage.
